Team Horncastle bring home the silverware

Congratulations to our team of superstars for winning the Rotary Club of Howden Annual AM-AM last Friday. Due to Ian Hodges being unavailable at the last minute, he drafted in Chris McFadden of Chris McFadden Travel to join James Richmond of The Harris Partnership, James Gray of Handelsbanken and Simon Stanley of BWB Consulting and they won the event with 85 points.  Congratulations also to Simon, who was Nearest the Pin. Horncastle supports Run With It

Horncastle Group Plc have been delighted to support Run With It, a group working with schools and education providers in the area to design packages to support the needs of identified groups of children of all ages and abilities. Based at The Education Centre within the KCOM Stadium, their packages focus on supporting schools with the delivery of the national curriculum specialising in English and Maths and the development of employability skills. Rollits Charity Golf Tournament 2016

Rollits Charity Golf Tournament took place on Thursday 7th July 2016 at Brough Golf Club, raising funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK and Dove House Hospice.  Both of these charities carry out important work locally and the Horncastle Group were once again delighted to support the event. East Yorkshire Classic Cycle Race 2016

The East Yorkshire Classic Town Centre Cycle Race came to Beverley on Friday 8th July 2016 and Horncastle Group Plc were delighted to once again co-sponsor the event. Cat Zero Cycle Challenge 2016

Horncastle Group Plc and W A Horncastle Charitable Trust were proud to support the Cat Zero Cycle Challenge 2016 last weekend. Despite the adverse weather conditions, approximately 20 cyclists set off on Friday 10th June from Albert Dock in Liverpool, rode over the Pennines on Saturday 11th and finished in Hull for a celebration event and Hog Roast on Sunday 12th.  The Challenge was for each cyclist to raise £500 each towards training and mentoring young people via Cat Zero programmes.   The total raised so far is just over £8,000. The Prince’s Trust does fantastic work supporting young people in the Humber region and both Horncastle Group and The WA Horncastle Charitable Trust recognise this, working with their local team whenever possible. The Daisy Appeal announces Smart Car Winner

Congratulations to Paul Hodgson of Market Weighton who has driven off in a brand new Smart car thanks to the Daisy Appeal's recent funding raising raffle. Listers Mercedes-Benz and Smart on Saxon Way in Hull supplied the vehicle at a reduced cost to the WA Horncastle Charitable Trust, which donated the car to the Daisy Appeal to raffle. The Daisy Appeal Video

The Daisy Appeal video is now complete and shows the positive effect to which the Daisy Appeal has throughout East Yorkshire and the wider region. The video tells the stories of people who have been affected by various diseases and how the charity has helped diagnose patients using the PET-CT scanner, housed at the Jack Brignall PET-CT Centre at Castle Hill Hospital. The first phase of the appeal managed to raise enough money to fund the scanner, which is one of only a few permanent scanners housed in the UK. Humber Futures – Supporting Disadvantaged Young People

Horncastle Group will again this year be supporting the highly successful Humber Futures gala evening, sponsored by W A Horncastle Charitable Settlement and KCOM Group; set up by The Princes Trust. Last year’s Humber Futures event raised an incredible £22,000 for disadvantaged young people in the region and this year will be looking to match this figure. The funds raised were able to support 5,000 young people in developing skills and confidence to enhance their career prospects.
