A Hull manufacturing business has cleaned up after finding a new home.

Bio-D, which makes environmentally friendly cleaning products, has moved to new 32,000sqft unit on Marfleet Environmental Technology Park, which is owned by leading commercial developer the Horncastle Group PLC.

The move has enabled Bio-D to double its factory space to meet current demand and to accommodate future growth.

Solar panels on the factory roof will see the business produce its own electricity, further enhancing its green credentials.

Lloyd Atkin, managing director at Bio-D, said: “Over the past five years Bio-D has seen a rapid increase in sales and our previous site just didn’t have the space we needed to manufacture and store our products whilst upscaling.

“The new site means we can bring all our operations and storage back in-house and create more job opportunities across the city.

“Now we’ve made the move to our new premises, we’re looking forward to having the space to grow as a business and continuing to create high quality cleaning products without compromising the planet.”

Ian Hodges, managing director of the Horncastle Group PLC, welcomed Bio-D to their new home.

He said: “Bio-D is a real success story, producing fantastic, ethical cleaning products.

“Marfleet Environmental Technology Park is the perfect place for such an innovative and green business, and we’re delighted to have been able to provide first-class accommodation that precisely meets their needs.

“We wish them all the best in their new home.”
